The District Manager List and Rankings

From the Office of the District Manager:

ALL YOUR AGENCY ARE BELONG TO US!

Heres a nice little gem of an email from the DM. In relation to my Farmers Insurance Agent story

Most of my communication was directly over the phone or in person because I think some people tend to blow up a little more than they should over email or other electronic means. Like for example this website!

Anyhow, here is the means to the end. I was stuck in a lease for an office until September, this email caused me huge problems because I was running out of money to pay for it and I needed to get my renewals for the next 2 months to pay for rent. July just wouldnt work for me as an exit date!

Subject: RE: Subsidy Stop

(Agent Name),

You told me in our meeting that you are planning to stick with Farmers as an agent and get back on track with your results.  However, since our meeting to discuss your Subsidy and Advance Stop, you have produced 0 home, 0 life and 1 auto.  Additionally, you haven’t written a new home policy since June 23rd, no new life since April 20th and only 3 autos thus far in the month of July.

(Agent Name) , I am beside myself and don’t understand what is really going on in your agency.  While you tell me that you are back on board with focusing on being an agent with Farmers, you do not show it in your actions and/or results.

Therefore, I need you to make a decision about your future and choose one of the following by this Monday, July 24, 2006.

1-Fully jump onboard with Farmers and attend all Monday morning training meetings, District Meetings, FFS training, Produce a minimum of 25 P & C new business per month, write 5 life policies by the end of July and issue at least 5 by end of August to get back on subsidy, have a positive attitude and become a productive agent going forward.

or

2- Turn in your letter of resignation as a Farmers Agent effective July 31st, 2006.

(Agent Name), obviously I want you to choose option 1.  However, I cannot have you as a member of our team with you continuing down the same path you have traveled over the past few months.  Pleas call me on Monday to let me know of your decision.

Sincerely,

(Your loving and caring district manager!)

Agent Reply to the above email:

Bob,

How do you expect me to try and work with you when you have all this hostility towards me?  I think you have a temper and it gets out of hand where you become unreasonable and unwilling to help someone if it isnt your way.  We spoke in our meeting and I told you that I have run across some confidence issues, we agreed that maybe the VUL training tomorrow might help.  Without that even taking place you come out and attack me full force, how is that supposed to help me?  I get more of the impression that you want me out.  When you come out and demand a miracle or the alternative is to quit, i'm left thinking you only have one intended path for me.  I dont see big life numbers coming out of anyone else, when every Farmers agent has to write 5 policies on themself and 2 on each of their family members just so we dont get our contract cancelled.  Something is wrong and its not we the agents.

I have a life policy all filled out sitting in front of me right now, whats the point of turning that in now?

I'm putting forth my best effort and i'm not resigning as requested.

(Me!)

Farmers-Online Commentary: Here is the last email that I received from Mr District Manager.

Did I ever get those 5 life apps in the system?

Nope, I sure as F didnt! The rest of the communications between me and the DM from here out were in person or on the phone. Unfortunately I didnt record any of them for your listening pleasure.

Please dont forget to click the nice video that I attached, its some kind of wonderful!

Subject: You still need 5 issued and paid life in the next 6 weeks

(Farmers Agent Name) ,

Time is running out. Make sure to get your 5 written life in the system ASAP so you will not fall short at the end of September. Remember, you need 5 I & P life policies and 30 NB P & C in order to maintain your Agent Appointment Agreement with Farmers.

Please give me an update of your status.

Thanks,
