"OK your site is pretty much dead on. At my experience level, Id rate it at 97.9
You need to mention the new 500/700 series re-distribution plan on your site.
IE... @
<1000 grow 400 PIF in two years.... there yours.
1001 to 2000 PIF need to grow 300 PIF in two years
2001-3000 PIF need to grow 200 PIF in two years
>3000 PIF need to grow 100 PIF in two years.
Then after that spongbob..... your eligible to receive 100% commission on them. For me not a big deal as I have approximately 75 in a 500 series. Grow?....... Sold over 291 policies in 07.... gained 7 PIF overall. And believe me, were not price guys ,and yes we have a retention specialist even before they called it a retention specialist in December 06.
Ahh...... the new re-distribution carrot for career agents. Ok spongebob career agent.... the old agents just aren't doing it, so there yours now boy. Make me proud "me boy"! But as always, in the end, and still asking. Where does 50% of the prem go?.... and for two years? Oh but.... and let's not forget spongebob, it takes 50% less to service the same policy. So mate, go do your job ,and do it well..... it's Farmers were selling. But if you don't achieve the dream of master career fry cook. Will simply pass them along to the next "eligible" agent.
To say the least... Im done .... planning my exit strategy... meeting with another rep from another xyz company today... for yes... another appointment. Farmers has excellent systems capability, web platform, training, etc. but come on..... 20 minutes to submitt a computer app with the expectation that the customer stand by? Concurrent transactions, Farmers DMV odometer/smog checks with policies being cancelled for non disclosure. Imaging practices that takes president over customer care. Pricing structure that's a day late and a dollar short. And a DM that has become another obstacle with a marketing plan that includes disparaging proven, established agents ,as well as there agencies, never having a clue that his rhetoric it's lessing his own credibility within the community he is struggling to try to fit into too.
Sincerely,
Truth is a funny thing. "

Thanks for the superb write up and kind comments.
You are the exact reason why I quit. 1791 PIF and 1.3 million in written premium in the real world with “Preferred Business” in 90% of the client base is worth.. what 1.5 to 1.8 million dollars? Maybe more??? Please let me know what your Contract Value ends up being. One tip I’ve heard from a couple other exiting agents is that you should take a loan against your CV because sometimes they sort of forget to pay you and its real hard to get them to.
You also reminded me on a couple of key points. My mind conveniently forgot them because they were thorns that once pulled I wanted to clear them from memory as soon as possible.
Image Center: I have very extensive IT background spanning 12 years prior to entering into the farmers ideal. I also spent a good 4 hours a week troubleshooting crap for the DM’s office because, hey why pay $80/150 an hour for office network support when you can mooch it from a farmers agent? The Image Center is a joke. I know volumes about scanning images, converting from one format to a another, reducing size, increasing clarity as well as volumes on installing and making software work on desktop machines. I attempted to make Image Center work. After dickin with it for a few hours on 3 different machines, I decided to put it off till later.. It was never finished. The way they handle it was a joke! Plus I saw what they were really doing with that contact management system they added on last summer ECMS. It was really an easier way to transition clients from your agency into other farmers agency’s when you get the boot! So I put as much invalid or incomplete info as possible in there because I knew I was leaving.
Application submission system or (Farmers Dashboard) – Because of my IT background, I was selected by my DM to have a special lunch with Rico the big dog Farmers IT President from home office in California. I remember detailing all the idiosyncrasies with screenshots of what sucks with the dashboard and why the programmers should be forced to be an agent for 6 months before writing on the system because its illogical and none of it makes any sense. The Farmers Dashboard is the worst system of all insurance companies I’ve ever tried since. There is one that comes close called Commerce West, but the funny thing about their awkward submission system, no matter how weird it is (applications done from a PDF file and submitted with payment that way electronically) it ends up working and its still fast. You just cant print it and make it look good on paper for a signature.. You reminded me that it was a huge effort to submit apps and you finally struggle through the whole thing and hit submit and the thing craps out on you with a concurrent transaction and guess what.. you gotta start all over again cause they wiped it out! I also remember submitting a few apps that said they were a success but never made it on the system. The client and all the data vanished into lala land. There were also a few accounts I had, when you pulled em up in dashboard, they were mixed with other households. You could see 9 cars on it from two unrelated clients. I had one where you lookup a name and someone elses stuff came up one one page but you click on the car and it was the real guys stuff.. You try and print anything it’s the other clients data. This crap never never happens anywhere else so you are in for a treat when you leave!
Good luck and feel free to write with updates!
