I am soooo glad I found this site. I was just offered a position to become a Farmers agent. From the beginning I was extremely skeptical. It was a very unusual interview in which I posed most of the questions. 1 week later I was hired. I recently went back into the office for my welcome letter...not personalized of course, that's when I felt like a number. For a company this size I would have expected a little more support...Farmers will not support you financially, you must pay for your exams, study guides, advertising, even business cards!
By contrast Edward Jones invests 100k the 1st year on their reps and they can't infringe on another's territory. Farmers will allow you to set up where you want , 1 block away, even if this is not strategically in anyone's best interest (but Farmer's of course). Then came their advice, you must develop a contact log....gather names of everyone you know, friends, family, business associates and call them monthly. Leads must come from them as well. I am not the big risk taker, this is not for me...too much like Primerica.
Thanks for the site!
