I joined Farmers in February of this year and careered in June. I absolutely love it, I think it is a good product and the pricing is very competitive. I have a pretty large sphere of influence which has attributed to my success. I didn't have any insurance experience at all but since I already had my licenses because my previous employer decided they wanted to open an insurance agency but never did, I thought what the hell. I am #1 in my district and couldn't be happier, I am meeting all my production requirements with ease. I think it is a good program for the right person. Don't get me wrong the billing sucks and it is a trial by fire attitude, but once you learn the system you can prepare your clients for rate increases, etc. I guess what I am saying is I think if you are doing it the right way, you can do every bit of what they say. I guess I am just hoping the few of you that have had such a bad experience is an expception. Sounds like the biggest problem is support from your DM... I do have to say my DM is awesome, he was a Farmers agent before so I guess he has a more realistic view of what it takes to make it through the program. And we are very open and honest, if his idea sucks I tell him and he gives me feed back as well.
If you are selling on value and not price and stop worrying about what every other insurance company is doing I think you can succeed. I know I offer something no one else does, me! I know you all must think I am brain washed, and I admit I am a little bit, but I don't have a lot of service work or complaints. Maybe it's something that comes with time? So like I said I hope your experience isn't typical across the company?
