I have been trying to work with farmers for the last two months. I have invested about $3000 and made no money. I was really happy with them until I began reading the small prints at the botton of the pages. I was first told I was going to get the money back for the classes and the tests once I passed but that's not true. I did not know about the subsidy-debt until one of my instructor from the University told me to ask because Farmers tells you is a salary. Then, I live 20 miles away from the District Office but that did not matter; I was asked to come frequently for things that could have been taken care over the phone or e-mails. Sometimes, I was asked to make several trips a day. When, I began searching for clients I did not get totally trained. Someone else would do the quotes for me. I did not like this because I was not learning anything. I got upset and did not sign up anyone with them and decide to stop. I also found another company that gives an actual salary (not as high as Farmers subsidy) but at least I know if I do not make it, I don't have to pay the money back. In additon, the new company works as many independent agents because you can write policies with several companies unlike farmes that if you can write them, you have to send them away. Maybe Farmers works good for some but I would say to ask a lot of questions and read everything if you are trying to work as a Captive Agent for a company.
